Oatey® industrial-grade purple primer is an NSF listed, aggressive primer for use on commercial and large-diameter thermoplastic piping systems, specifically CPVC sch 40/80. It is formulated for use on PVC and CPVC pipe and fittings in cold weather applications. It removes contaminants such as surface dirt, grease and grime as well as softens the pipe surface to allow for a fast, secure solvent weld. Its clear finish will not stain most surfaces and applies easily with included in-lid dauber. Oatey® products have earned the trust of plumbing professionals for over 100 years.
